Grab your friends or family members and step up with the Hong Chi Climbathon 2014, an annual charity stair run put on by the Hong Chi Association to raise awareness and funds to support people with intellectual disabilities in their educational pursuits. You can opt to do the whole 75-floor run on your own, form a team for a 29-floor relay race, or join up with Hong Chi students and trainees.

Racing not your thing? You can still show your support by making a donation or attending the event, where there will be performances by Hong Chi student trainees, refreshments, and other festivities to keep you entertained.

Hong Chi's ambassadors include Lisa Cheng, the first Chinese female champion of the International Climbing World Cup, as well as Chung Kin Mung, the first mountaineer from Hong Kong to climb the famous Seven Summits, the highest mountains of each of the seven continents. "Each step you take will help more people with intellectual disabilities receive further vocational training and continuing education," says Chung.

The organizer of this event, the Hong Chi Association, is a Hong Kong-based non-profit organization which currently provides vital services to over 7,000 people with intellectual disabilities. Services include special education, job training, supported employment, community support, recreational programs, therapy and more. All proceeds from this event go toward these commendable goals.
