More Hong Kong Movie Ideas
With “Pacific Rim,” “Transformers 4” and the new Michael Mann movie coming out, it’s clear that Hong Kong is the new film epicenter of the world. As such, I’ve constructed some more movie premises starring Hong Kong.

Dominoes (Action): An overload of mainland tourists on The Peak observatory causes it to topple over, smashing it into another building, which crashes into another building. The destruction wave continues down towards the harbor. Visiting tourist Kiefer Sutherland reprises his role as Jack Bauer and must race down the mountain in real time as buildings collapse, in order to save his girlfriend Maggie Q (buying shoes at Lane Crawford but also using kung fu on the salespeople) before IFC is destroyed.

Sarah’s Revenge (Horror): Attractive, witty Emma Stone snaps when she realizes that no matter how alluring she can be, expat guys in Hong Kong only date Asian girls. She decides to go on a murder spree, targeting only expats. The carnage begins during Happy Hour in SoHo, bleeds into Wan Chai, and ends in a spectacular showdown at Carnegie’s at 3am.

Aimee (Drama): Plucky Australian-Chinese girl Aimee comes to Hong Kong in the hopes of finding unbelievable beauty in the city of millions. She experiences an “Amélie”-like sense of wonderment at the new sights, smells and sounds, and dances out in the street to celebrate. Then she is hit by a tram.
