Top Music and Art Cafés in Hong Kong
Still going to that regular old coffee shop? You’re so mainstream. Get cultured and caffeinated double-time with these arts and music cafés. By Andrea Lo.

Shake Your Boom
Situated on hipster enclave Sai Street, Boom Gallery and Café conveniently turns into a bar at night. There are posters and artwork plastered all over the stark white walls and a well-stocked bar to the side. During the day, nibble on sandwiches, crêpes and the like. Boom houses Hong Kong’s coolest art exhibitions, drawing a trendy crowd faster than you can say “abstract expressionism.”

2 Cool 4 School
Expect a hip clientele and light bites at TC2 Café and Workshop. TC2, which stands for “Tea Coffee 2,” is part café, part gig and arts venue. It was established by two journalists as a headquarters for creative types to hang out and bounce ideas around. The artisanal crafts on display, artwork all around, live bands on weekends, and 20-somethings chilling over coffee and beer add to the oh-so-cool vibes.
