New Phuket Resort, and Insight from The Luxe Nomad

On the Rocks

Sick of fighting for a spot of sand in Phuket? Class up your act with new property Kata Rocks, the flagship resort from the Infinite Luxury lifestyle design group. Named after the rocky headland it sits on overlooking Kata Beach, the resort looks like it’s from outer space, built with lots of glass and white metal. It’s an all-villa affair, with 34 villas that range from one to four bedrooms—each with its own infinity pool. Keeping with the futuristic look, the villas have lots of highfalutin touches, such as iPad controllers for mood lighting and room service. The grand opening is slated for November 28, but there’s a soft opening package until October 31, with 20 percent off published rates and free airport transfers.

Rooms from THB28,000 ($6,742). 186/22 Kok Tanode Rd., Kata, Phuket, Thailand, (+66) 76-370-777, www.katarocks.com.
