Umbrella Closing Ho Hung-hei, an umbrella specialist who has been running a green tin stall on Peel Street since 1947, announces his retirement. His wife says Ho was hospitalized briefly in 2014 and has been unable to work regularly. In 1994, Ho broke a Guinness World Record for creating the most expensive umbrella—it was made of cow leather and sold for £167 ($2,014) in England. The umbrella he handmade for the Queen is also still on display at the Windsor and Royal Borough Museum in the UK.

End of the Line The MTR’s new West Island Line extension opens. At midnight on Saturday, a group of railway fanatics takes the last train to its terminus at Sheung Wan Station, which will no longer serve as the end of the Island Line. The group then heads to a fast food restaurant in Sai Wan to spend the night. At 5am, the group and about 100 people wait outside the new Kennedy Town Station to catch the first train at 6am. They all clap their congratulations when the train leaves the station.

Pubic Prank A Facebook group sets up fake women’s accounts to “bully and punish” men looking for casual hookups online. In one prank, a group member demanded a victim shave his pubic hair and then pile it into a heart shape as a gift. He agreed and filmed the entire process.
