Super Duper Dinners: Where to Eat Superfoods in Hong Kong
Want to have your kelp and eat it too? Taste-test this year’s trending superfoods without sacrificing your social life. Cynthia Chung and Melissa Frankenberry track down a few restaurants serving up some extra-healthy helpings.

Goji Berries
The Superfood: Who knew these unassuming little fruits could contain so many disease-defying nutrients? Used for thousands of years in China for medicinal and culinary purposes, goji berries are said to be the most nutritionally dense fruits in the world—packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds.
Try it Here: They’re common ingredients in most Chinese soups, but if you want to go posh then head to Mott 32 and have your goji berries with a side of vice in the form of an Old Harbour, an update on the Old Fashioned that’s tangy, sweet and very classy. Meanwhile, the Mott’s Amber, a fancy name for a traditional osmanthus jelly dessert, uses the tartness of goji berries to balance out its sweet floral notes.

Teff
The Superfood: Mainly growing in Ethiopia and Eritrea, teff grains are approximately the size of poppy seeds. Teff translates to “grass of love” in Greek, probably because it has so much going for it: amino acids, protein, calcium, iron, vitamin C, and great dietary fibers that help weight control and blood sugar management.
