App-based taxi service Uber is getting into the Chinese New Year spirit: they're offering everyone two free taxi rides tomorrow, between midnight and 11:59pm.

The free rides are capped at $200 each, and a $10 fee applies if you cancel the booking after five minutes. If you don't have the app it's free on iTunes and Android or you can sign up here.

"It's going to be very busy tomorrow," says Sam Gellman, General Manager of Uber Hong Kong. "Keep trying!"

The offer does not apply to Uber's premium UberBlack service.

The company wants people to be able to try out the Uber experience. "Getting cash out of the pocket in the taxi, in a city so fast-paced, can be a bit stressful," says Gellman. "Uber makes the entire experience cash-free. Even when the taxi ride is not free, users pay via a credit card."

Uber launched its taxi-booking service last August, connecting users to taxi drivers in town. There's are no booking fees and the app charges the regular taxi meter rate.
