Hong Kong Sevens 2015 Update

The Biggest Village

Get your arms in the air you “Macho Men”—the Village People are coming to town for the Hong Kong Sevens. The 70s disco phenomenon will follow the colorful “March Past” parade on Saturday. Expect costumes wild enough to rival those of the South Stand, plus all the classic party anthems. Better get rehearsing your best YMCA moves. What else is new? Sunday fans will be treated to a one-of-a-kind display of Kung Fu Rugby: where “players” who’ve trained under legendary si fu Yeung Pan-pan will fight it out on the pitch.

Balls and Bubbles

The Louis Roederer Champagne Tent is back for the ultimate in glitzy Sevens after-parties, a mere rugby ball’s throw from the stadium. The corks pop just before the final whistle each day and continue until late. Grab your tickets before Feb 20 and they’re just $250.

March 27-29, Indian Recreation Club, 63 Caroline Hill Rd., Causeway Bay. $300 until March 20 from www.ironmongerevents.com; $350 from March 23-26; $400 at the door (subject to availability). Drinks not included.

Not Got Tickets?

Try your luck with official site www.viagogo.co.uk —although be prepared to pay a premium— or you could always suck it up with a baller ticket through the Hong Kong Sevens Hospitality Village. The fully catered marquee just 50 yards from the stadium offers live coverage of all the action on giant screens, there’s an open bar until the final whistle, buffet breakfast and lunch, afternoon tea, and complimentary access to the Louis Roederer after party. $10,900 includes two days of hospitality and Sevens tickets for all three days; Saturday or Sunday only, $4,500 not including match tickets.
