It’s not just the end of the tram line any more. Now the MTR’s arrived, you can forget about the sleepy, tong lau-lined enclave that Kennedy Town—or K-Town, as we are now legally obliged to call it—once was. But thanks to the comparatively slow pace of development, K-Town still retains its gentler, slower feel. Despite more gentrified restaurants popping up by the day, there’s always a new, quiet corner of Kennedy Town that’s just around the corner. For now, anyway…

1) Sai Wan Swimming Shed

Right on the western end of K-Town, this wooden pier and changing room was built so the residents of Western could take dips in the harbor. You can too—or, you know, just Instagram it and pretend like you did.
