Emily Lau Rescued by Handsome Lawyer
Democratic Party chair Emily Lau was heading to a “scheduled arrest” related to her involvement with Occupy Central, when a well-dressed man made an appearance and volunteered his assistance. The man was Wilson Leung of the pro-democracy Progressive Lawyers Group, who ended up spending two hours helping Lau during the arrest. He was seen rushing to leave afterwards, but not before asking for a yellow umbrella as a souvenir. Lau took one out from her purse and gifted it to Leung, also commenting on how good-looking he is. Leung is already spoken for: his girlfriend also works in the legal sector.
Our take: Hunky lawyers? Did we all just step into an episode of “Suits”?
Anson Just Wants to Chat to Carrie
Former Chief Secretary Anson Chan is helming the “Hong Kong 2020” reform proposal, which includes an amended plan for the 2017 election indended to reflect the will of the voters. In an interview with Apple Daily about the proposal, Chan revealed that she has asked to meet with current Chief Secretary Carrie Lam, but has yet to receive a reply. “It is not a matter of personal pride, but if any group or individual has the sincerity to put forward a proposal, the government should take it into consideration and take time out to meet them,” said Chan. She added that “Nowadays, it seems there’s only one person who can have a say in the government, and that’s the CE. Not even the Chief Secretary has any say nor power.”
Our take: When Anson was in charge, would she have met with Carrie? We wonder…
