1. Raise a glass That month-long hangover is upon us: the Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Year boozing season, when every night sees you partying like some modern-day Jay Gatsby and every morning has you wishing you were as dead as F. Scott Fitzgerald's famed character. But still we persevere, which means there's always the issue of what to wear. Jimmy Choo's creative director, Sandra Choi, has taken direct inspiration from the "festive" season for her latest collection, which is titled Cocktail and features an array of alcohol-inspired shoes and handbags. We recommend the Tartini heels (right; HK$21,500), which are made of suede with crystal pavé, and the Sunrise heels (top left; HK$12,800), made of nappa leather with gemstones. If you are looking for an evening bag, opt for the boxy Candy bag in black-gold viola (bottom left; HK$7,990). Jimmy Choo is in IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2234 7810. 2. Eye candy Karen Walker's latest collection of sunglasses, a limited-edition line titled Candy Bar, is obviously inspired by the rock 'n' roll shapes of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. They are available in a number of subtle, earthy tones, which the press release dubs "toffees, caramels and milkshakes", but we particularly like the Perfect Day sunglasses (top; HK$2,310), a gender-neutral pair in white that the late Lou Reed might have been partial to. We also dig the Number Two (centre; HK$2,310), a dark blue Roy Orbison-type pair, as well as the bright and cheery Anywhere (bottom; HK$2,310) in retro-styled "Super Lemon". Karen Walker sunglasses are available at Puyi Optical, Lee Gardens, Causeway Bay, tel: 2890 7070. 3. East meets West The glamour of Asia is often underrated, as Italian designer Roberto Cavalli realised recently during a trip to Bhutan. Taking inspiration from that fabulously well-preserved country, his latest Just Cavalli autumn-winter collection is a testament to our stunning continent. We particularly like the velvet jacket (left; HK$8,795), with its silky patterns and shapely cut blending the best of East and West. For something a little more subtle, we love the red overcoat (right; HK$21,995), with its high collar and fur trim. Just Cavalli is available at The Swank, The Landmark, Central, tel: 2868 6990.
