Oh, really? The question I've been ruminating on is: why do men feel the need to look beyond Hermès Eau d'Orange Verte (HK$755; Hermès, Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2522 6229)? I'm only partially joking. The selection has expanded in recent years to include variations that might appeal more to your olfactory sensibilities; check out Eau de Gentiane Blanche, Eau de Mandarine Ambree and Eau de Narcisse Bleu (about HK$900). If a good floral cologne is all you require, there's Aqua di Parma (HK$880; Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3388), which was famously made for Napoleon and contains notes of orange blossom and lavender.
Dude, seriously? Like your only two choices are super-high-end old-man shoes or Nikes? I don't think so. For several seasons now, there have been very cool lace-up shoes with coloured rubber soles. At the moment, I'm loving the ones by Diesel (from HK$2,100 to HK$4,500; 20 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2525 0540). Fancier brogues with rubber tread are made by others, too, naturally. The Italian designer best known for his super-luxe clothing and knitwear, Brunello Cucinelli, has a variety that fit that description. Check out the tooled brogues, for example, which come in brown leather with lug soles (HK$8,595 to HK$9,595; New World Tower, 16 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2866 6783).
