Maggy Frances Schultz, a 25-year-old New Yorker who was brought up by two very fashionable parents. Her mother was the right-hand woman of Mickey Drexler, former chief executive of Gap and now of J.Crew, and her father co-founded Urban Outfitters. During her studies at New York University, Schultz interned as a fashion assistant, but grew frustrated by the unwearable nature of many of the clothes. Her foray into design began when she customised a few pieces of vintage clothing. Her next step was a trip to Hong Kong, where she had samples made up by a tailor. By the time she returned to New York she had a fully formed concept and launched her eponymous label in 2012. She looks to the Rolling Stones for inspiration and occasionally sneaks a peek at Marilyn Monroe for some sultry sex appeal. Everything is made in New York using the highest quality fabrics with the utmost attention to fit and detail.

flamboyant prints and structured shapes form fantastic silhouettes and while everything is pretty, nothing is sickly sweet. The staple blazers are classic, the skater skirts are fresh and everything is versatile and wearable. Schultz describes her garments as "investment pieces without the investment". She looks to the past for inspiration and references to vintage shapes and antique prints can be seen throughout her latest spring-summer range.

we're feeling fresh and flirty in this little Anna romper (above centre; HK$1,550). The Sophia skirt (above right; also HK$1,550) is retro tropical and if it's chilly we'll perch the Charlotte blazer (above left; HK$3,300) on our shoulders.
