former banker Rakhee Shah. In 2012, having spent eight years in private banking in Kenya, London and Hong Kong, the fashion-loving Shah decided to follow her heart and launch her own label, Maisha Concept. A third-generation Kenyan by birth and Indian by blood, Shah grew up surrounded by the rich colours and fabrics of Africa, the inspiration for her stunning collections.

Shah sources fabrics for Maisha, which means "life" in Swahili, from manufacturers and artisans in Africa and India. The latest collection, Eastern Paradise, is inspired by the beauty of the East African savannah and features rich fabrics and modern designs.
the Kenyan Tweed blazer (far right; HK$1,200) would be a good choice for the coming change of season but, if you really want to get noticed, then you might want to consider the Zulu Madman dress (right centre; also HK$1,200). Another standout is the Shanghai Twist top in bottle green (right; HK$1,000), which blends Chinese designs with African fabrics.
