1.  Cruise lines At Out shopping, we love a bit of leather play (cue tittering), especially for spring-summer. The contrasting colours and textural effect are cool yet crafty. Bulgari might be famous for its opulent jewellery but its range of handbags is not to be sniffed at, either. This season’s collection, titled “A Mediterranean Journey”, takes inspiration from an imaginary cruise across southern Europe, taking in glamorous Rome, Capri, Portofino and the Aegean Sea. Take a look at this blue and white woven leather evening wallet (bottom; HK$9,000), then this perforated fanmotif Isabella Rossellini handbag layered in gold, black and white and a mother-of-pearl clasp (top right; HK$29,000). For those more into classic Bulgari and its traditional snake motif, there is this stunning Monete shoulder bag in python skin and calf leather (centre; HK$45,000). Bulgari is in Chater House, Central, tel: 2523 8057.

2.  Jewel purpose Jewellery that is cool and contemporary can be hard to come by, or even find. Links of London has always been good at nailing down a clean, modern look. And although it's famous for its thread and metal friendship bracelets, we also really like the simplicity and pure lines of the gold Hope collection. The subtle ring (centre; HK$7,500), hoop earrings (right; HK$11,000) and cuff (left; HK$25,000) are all understated, everyday pieces that should last a lifetime. Links of London is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2392 2802.

3.  Different strokes Prada's spring-summer catwalk show was very different to what the other brands were doing. The literal imagery, especially the graphic portraits on the hero pieces, made it straight onto the pages of fashion magazines around the world. In real life, however, pulling these garments off are a little more difficult, especially with the loud, bright palette that Miuccia Prada opted for. The brand's playful Graffiti capsule collection offers a slightly toned down version of the theme for spring in colourful prints made from mixing up muralist images. The cotton summer dress (right) will cost you HK$30,250 and the heeled sandals (left), which remind us of Mondrian, are HK$7,850. Prada is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 9233.
