Available in eight shades, including sunset orange and dusty pink, the chunky pencil delivers a natural, long-lasting colour for lips. The solid yet creamy texture of the stick allows it to double as a lip liner. A blend of emollients and shea butter enables the product to glide on easily and helps prevent chapping.
2. MAC’s Patentpolish Lip Pencil (HK$165) has a twist-up design aimed at delivering a mess-free, smooth application with a glossy finish. It comes in 12 shades, including Innocent (nude beige), Fearless (deep blue-pink) and Clever (mid-tone brick coral). Layer several hues to create that cute lollipop-stained finish made popular by Korean celebrities.
3. Lipstick Queen’s Chinatown Glossy Pencil (HK$190) is by a brand that claims to be the pioneer of gloss-on-the-go. It comes with a jumbo sharpener and its shea and mango butter-infused formula moisturises and gives lips a subtle, sheer gleam. Available at Joyce Beauty, there are three shades – Cameo, Catalina and Pink Bluff – to choose from. Its packaging was inspired by Roman Polanski’s 1974 movie Chinatown.
4. Sisley’s Phyto-Lip Twist (HK$330) is a tinted balm that needs no sharpener. With a handy twist-up design, it offers the sharp pigmented colour of a lipstick, the shine of a gloss and the care of a balm. Olive oil-derived phytosqualane and Commiphora resin extract work to reveal fuller lips. Available in six vibrant hues, all of which are as eyecatching as the zebra-striped tube.
