1. What a Liberty H&M has its detractors but sometimes the Swedish fashion behemoth does things we can all applaud. It has had collaborations with the likes of Maison Martin Margiela and Stella McCartney, but it's only gone and outdone itself by teaming up with Liberty of London, the world's largest depository of prints. The tie-up is a mod's dream, with dozens of paisley and floral prints on men's accessories including bow-ties (top left; HK$250) and pocket squares (above left and top right; HK$150 each). H&M is in Langham Place, Mong Kok.

2. Put your foot down The irony of wearing driving shoes in Hong Kong is that hardly anyone drives. If you are going to live in hope of getting behind the wheel someday, then make sure you're wearing a pair of Harmont & Blaine driving shoes that come in a variety of colours in leather (left; HK$3,880) and suede (right; HK$3,280). Harmont & Blaine is in the Landmark, Central.

3. Case cracked The folks at Goyard are deliberately low key and their discretion stands in stark contrast to a certain other Parisian trunkmaker. We sent our undercover reporter to get some info out of the company and discovered it has created a wonderful leather watch box (left; from HK$27,100) that can hold four, six, eight or 10 watches and is available in a choice of colours. There is also a giant cigar humidor (right; HK$199,200) that can hold up to 50 cigars in five drawers. Just don’t tell anyone we told you. Goyard is available in The Peninsula Hotel, Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

4, Restrain for effect Right now, it’s incredibly difficult to not fixate on all things football or Brazil. However, if samba beats, vivid technicolour and kicking a spherical white thing around aren’t your bag then the cool, calm and collected nature of Scandinavian fashion might be more up your alley. Cos, or Collection of Style, is as typical as Scandinavian design gets and we love its minimalist approach, especially the restrained look of this subtly striped long-sleeved shirt (HK$690), navy knee-length shorts (HK$590) and black polished-leather sandals (HK$1,750; all right). We also like the slightly hipper ensemble of slim-fit suit jacket (HK$1,900), matching trousers (HK$890), burgundy shirt (HK$590) and the same polished black leather sandals (HK$1,750; all far right). Cos is at 74 Queen’s Road Central.
