Superstar, style icon and brand ambassador for British label Kent & Curwen, Aaron Kwok Fu-shing talks about his fashion philosophy ahead of his first London concert next Saturday.
"Fashion, of course, is very important to me because I'm a singer. When you step onto the stage you need to perform and fashion is a huge part of the impression [you give] to your fans. It can make you iconic. I love fashion, but that does not mean just following trends. You need to know how to carry the clothes rather than have the clothes carry you."
"I'm a creator. Everything is creative and is part of design: my fitness, singing, acting. They are all creative things. As a singer you create the songs, in movies you create the characters. I love it, I enjoy it, it's a big part of my life. If I didn't have work in my life, I would die. It would be boring."
"I like the UK, because when I was young, my education was under the English system, since Hong Kong was still under colonial rule. So, when I visit England sometimes I feel a connection with my youth. I am staging a concert in London [next weekend], which will be my first ever in the UK. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the fans in England. Most of them are Chinese, of course, but the place is different."
"For the next half year, I'll be busy with movies - I'm shooting three up to Chinese New Year. So exercise is really important for me. I don't necessarily do it every day, but when I have time, I do it - it keeps my body fit. It helps provide the high energy levels I need for all my different jobs and helps me maintain a good, clear mind."
