Who started it? British designer Osman Yousefzada grew up inspired by his mother’s Birmingham-based dressmaking business. From England’s industrial Midlands, he ventured south to take up a spot at London’s Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, graduating in 2005. The following summer, Yousefzada launched his first collection under the Osman label, which led to collaborative contracts with high-street retailer Mango and jeweller Astley Clarke.

What we’d pick: for a head-turning piece, we’d choose the black overlay-panel crepe dress (left; HK$7,642), an easy, chic ensemble for day or night. Much of the collection sticks to a monochrome palette, which is why we love the colour and eccentric print of the tile-jacquard pea coat (right; HK$13,775).
