Who started it? When Nicolas Ghesquiere left Balenciaga in 2012 after 15 years at the helm, three of his loyal pupils also departed the fashion house to form their own label. Since then, Julien Dossena, Lion Blau and Florent Buonomano have managed to get Atto into international retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue and Printemps. Why we love it: Atto’s balanced, minimalist and very French designs are super chic. Dresses are sharply tailored and understated while outerwear is infused with East Asian influences – from Japanese wrapping techniques to geometric panels of colour and texture that give a sense of depth and structure. What we’d pick: we love the leather obi-esque belt on the grey double-breasted jacket (above; HK$13,650), the colour block monochrome cardigan (bottom; HK$5,895) and the asymmetrical leather and crepe dress (top; HK$13,821) for a one-up on your standard LBD. Where can you get it? Atto is available at matchesfashion.com .
