Accessories label Hermès makes items that are almost too plush to wear. But wear we will. We're in awe of the brand's craftsmanship and aptitude for reinventing classics, such as the crimson reptile-skin tote or nubuck and lambskin hand-stitched gloves. However, it's the scarves that always stand out and we're especially fond of the colours on the cashmere and silk Zebra Pegasus (left; HK$10,600). A close second is the Minuit au Faubourg scarf in vintage silk (right; HK$3,000), with its tongue-in-cheek graphic novel-esque horse, Super H, complete with cape. Hermès is in Lee Gardens One, Causeway Bay, tel: 2907 2974.

2. Arm candy Dolce & Gabbana's campaigns often evoke Italian bravura, portraying the country's prized daughters fending off puffed-up male suitors. This playfulness rears its head again in the brand's new Mini Mix Sicily collection, in which the iconic satchel bag has been overhauled with new textures and colours, in time to brighten a drab winter ensemble. We're fond of the lemon yellow, jade and violet combination (top; HK$11,210) as well as girly pink and blue version (bottom; also HK$11,210). Dolce & Gabbana is in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2956 0833.

3. Top gear Topshop opened in Hong Kong two springs ago and after many a season of fluoro lycra and sheer crop tops, the brand is finally offering an interesting collection. Aptly called Unique, the range is an assortment of quirky, design-led pieces. Enter our favourite outfits: the Artichoke floral shirt dress (right; HK$2,509) and the off-the-shoulder braided midi-dress (left; HK$3,599). Topshop is at 59 Queen’s Road Central, tel: 2118 5383.
