Dim sum chefs, organic farmers and street vendors: how often do normal Hongkongers get their moment in the limelight?
Photographer David Biddlecombe is working on his dream project, giving locals their five minutes of fame in a two-storey high art installation called 24x24.
"There will be 25 screens [side by side] showing the working day of 24 Hong Kong people, plus a city view," says Biddlecombe, who has lived in the city for 18 years. "Because we use time lapse, you'll see a whole day through those 24 people's eyes in five minutes."
So far, he has filmed 20 Hongkongers, including a newspaper street vendor, a kindergarten teacher and a farmer.
Biddlecombe sets up a static camera in the subject's workplace, and leaves it running for 24 hours from midnight.
