Who started it? Sydney-based siblings Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman are the brains behind their eponymous label. Trained as an engineer, Marc handles the business side while Camilla looks after the design aspect, informed by a degree from Sydney’s Whitehouse Institute of Design and further training at the Accademia Italiana Arte Moda Design, in Florence, Italy. Since its inception in 2003, the label has garnered a high-profile following, which includes the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Rose Byrne and Kate Bosworth.
Why we love it: the label’s latest resort collection, titled Aerial, is inspired by aerodynamics. The result is an array of ultra-light, luxurious fabrics featuring subtle draping and pleating – traits that have become signature to the company’s aesthetic.
What we’d pick: Camilla and Marc specialises in relaxed, pared-back dresses and quirky cuts. If you’re heading south for the holidays, consider the Masked-Owl dress in silver and white (far left; HK$8,448) for a statement entrance onto Bondi. If you’re staying closer to the tropics, the Sittella jumpsuit in black (left; HK$6,355) would be an easy number for any occasion. The Hummingbird dress in silver and white (right; HK$7,442) is a more sedate version of the Masked-Owl dress and perfect as a casual work ensemble.
