1. Going native In Hong Kong, we're so inundated with gadget accessories, that finding pieces of real use and beauty can be difficult. A brand that's been making minimalists and Scandi fans sit up and listen is Native Union, which has just launched two products: an updated version of its Clic Wooden phone case for the iPhone 6 and the Nightcable - a three-metre charging cable with a weighted knot that you can anchor on any flat surface to ensure the cable won't fall off every time you detach your phone. The marine version of the Nightcable (right; HK$320) and the olive Clic Wooden (left; HK$420) are available at nativeunion.com.

2. We're not suckers for a gaudy label that's nothing but bells and whistles. Brands that have stood the test of time know real fashionistas like ourselves don't believe in trends - it's the quality and design that keeps us coming back for more. Cue Hermès, a label that needs no introduction. Since its founding as a saddle and harness trader 177 years ago, Hermès has been making some of the world's finest accessories, so it's no surprise that its leatherwork often makes up the label's pièces de resistance. The Maxibox 29 Bag in "grizzly" and "swift" calfskin (left; HK$79,800) recalls the days of travel trunks, together with the large plaid blanket in camel down, trimmed with suede goatskin (right; HK$45,000). Hermès is in Lee Gardens One, Causeway Bay, tel: 2907 2974.

3. Captain quirk British jewellery firm Deakin and Francis is steeped in history. The Birmingham-based company is today run by brothers James and Henry Deakin, the seventh-generation of the family to helm the firm since it was established in 1786. Known for quirky and eccentric cufflinks, Deakin and Francis has created more than 1,000 designs over the past 200 years. Dress studs, tie slides and signet rings are also available. We know Halloween's been and gone but why not terrorise friends with a couple of silver skulls with black enamel top hats (top; HK$3,700), or a more sedate pair of 18-carat white gold sharks (above; HK$65,200)? Deakin and Francis is available at Lane Crawford, IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2118 2288.

4. Top coat Italian label Corneliani, which has been making coats and mackintoshes since the 1930s, has expanded into suits and casualwear. The brand’s autumn collection is a polished affair, with sporty zip-ups and Prince of Wales check suits. It’s the outerwear that reigns supreme, though, and the cream of the cream are the zip-up sheepskin jacket with cashmere sleeves (below left; HK$47,995) and the two-tone Mack cardigan (below right; HK$57,995). Corneliani is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2884 9021.
