Feast your eyes Given that The goods has 20/20 vision (meaning our dreams of flying a fighter jet are still very much alive), we haven’t featured optical frames very often. However, we realise the optically challenged guys out there might need a few pointers and we recommend the latest offerings from Lacoste (HK$1,000 and up). The frames come with lovely little details, such as a pique polo pattern on the arms, the use of funky coloured acetate and an “Asian fit” option. Lacoste Eyewear is available at Hong Kong Optical, 9 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 2576 2669.

His dark materials Creative director Alexander Wang continues to make his mark on Balenciaga, with an autumn-winter menswear collection that fuses the best of the house’s history and his own aesthetic of urban casualwear. We love this all-black get up that perfectly encapsulates the marriage of Balenciaga and Wang. The centrepiece is the sharply tailored duffel coat (HK$13,800), underneath which is a black turtleneck (HK$5,000). Black trousers (HK$9,000) and leather Derby-style shoes (HK$7,400; all above left) round off the ensemble. It’s not all black, though; Wang does extend himself to grey and we recommend this wintry look of grey cocoon coat (HK$20,400), with grey jacket (HK$16,800), grey jumper (HK$6,000), grey trousers (HK$4,400) and, finally, grey leather boots (HK$7,800; all above right). Balenciaga is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 3428 8086.
