Danielle Nicole's bags are practical but sophisticated
Daniel Kong

What’s the story? Creative director Danielle DiFerdinando founded the brand while interning at Bergdorf Goodman. A cosmetics buyer at the department store was bowled over by her designs, and encouraged the Maryland native to launch a line of cosmetic bags. Since then, she has created collections for department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales and Lane Crawford. DiFerdinando previously studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York, and she has apprenticed for several esteemed fashion houses in Europe.
Why we love it: Danielle Nicole takes a practical approach to designs while maintaining a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic. All products are reasonably priced, appealing to women who are both design-conscious and value-driven.
What we’d pick: the Lexie Satchel (above left; HK$800) in black and nude is a reliable and elegant staple. The bag’s roomy compartments are great for those among us who passionately oppose the virtues of travelling light. Otherwise, the Lexie Crossbody (above right; HK$700) is a great daytime solution. The bag’s zippers, metal flap detailing and subtle geometric lines give the bag a cool, urban feel.
