Cornelia Webb sculpts jewellery to mimic body's curves
Daniel Kong

Swedish designer Cornelia Webb started her eponymous label in 2005. A former medical student, Webb eschewed a career as a doctor in favour of jewellery design. Her understanding of human anatomy is evident in her creative process; she sketches potential designs straight onto her own skin. Her unique pieces saw her take home the prestigious Accessory Design Award from Elle Sweden in 2012.

The metallic pieces can feel tough, like armour, but they are also gently sculpted to mimic the soft and vulnerable curves of the body. In keeping with her homeland's environmentally friendly ethos, Webb also uses recycled metal to promote a timeless, sustainable definition of luxury.

a good start would be the gold wired open necklace (above right; HK$1,488), which features a thin, adjustable band with textured accents at the ends. Another standout is the brass-molded collar bone necklace (above centre; HK$1,318), a gorgeous experiment in realism that manages to look both tough and delicate. Lastly, the silver charmed earrings (above left; HK$888) are lustrous nuggets that mimic the shape of shark teeth.
