Jenny Packham and Luxottica go classic, Louis Vuitton channels the '70s
Alba Pinto

Pretty in pink Jenny Packham has adopted Marilyn Monroe as her muse this year, and her spring-summer collection oozes the movie icon's style. The jewellery line is floral and feminine, and runs the gamut of statement necklaces and chunky cuffs to delicate drop earrings with electroformed flowers. We recommend the dainty Lorelai necklace (above right; HK$3,144), made from gold-plated brass, or, for something more dramatic, there's the Elara necklace (above left; HK$4,254), with rose opals. The jewellery is available at jennypackham.com.

Hurrah! The 1970s have made a glorious comeback this season, with flares, crochet and questionable denim. Louis Vuitton is on point with ultra-modern takes on the trend, from mesh turtlenecks and jackets with suede lapels to high-rise jeans with stitching in conspicuous futuristic lines. The patent stripe is also a feature, in bold colour combinations and contrasting horizontal and vertical lines. Floral and animal prints make the cut, too. We love the Wallpaper velvet dress (above left; HK$48,000) and the striped Eel dress (above right; HK$43,000). Louis Vuitton is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 8100 1182.

Time for reflection Luxottica, the firm behind countless designer eyewear brands, is spying summer already - optimistic, but we'll gladly play along. Ray-Ban, Persol, D&G and Chanel sunnies are on offer, and styles vary from the classic Wayfarer to that favourite from the 1950s, the Burberry cat-eye. The titanium Ray-Bans with orange-tinted mirror lenses (above left; HK$2,300) are standouts as are the classic teardrop Miu Miu glasses with blue frames and tortoiseshell temple tips (above right; HK$3,050). Ray-Ban is available at Optical 88 (44 Des Voeux Road Central, tel: 2537 7985) while Miu Miu is at Lee Gardens Two (Causeway Bay, tel: 2882 7143).
