For men: Fancy Etro trainers, and sophisticated Hackett

Pushing boundaries We’re not sure when it happened but fashion houses at some point decided they would encroach on Nike and Adidas’ turf and start making trainers. Ultra high-end, very expensive trainers. The results have mostly been pretty good but, to be honest, if you’re paying a tonne of money for trainers you want them to turn heads. Enter Etro’s spring-summer line that is certainly eye-catching but only dubiously cool. Anyway, if you’re looking for conversation starters then check out the Paisley pattern pair (above, left and centre; HK$6,900) and the more hippy dippy psychedelic alternative (top right and above right; HK$9,200). Hot diggity dog It has been a pretty horrible March weather-wise thus far but the promise of sun, sunburn, heatstroke, heat rash, heat exhaustion, heat cramps (yes, it’s a thing) and excessive sweating is just around the corner. With this happy thought in mind, it’s time to look for a sun hat to help us look and stay cool. We like Kaminski XY’s Abaka hat (above left; HK$1,715), which can take a fair bit of damage while retaining its shape. That burst of colour and florals from last spring-summer was great and all but after a while it became a bit much. No more! We're in the mood for something sophisticated and mature this spring, and as always Jeremy Hackett can sort us out.
