Prada jewellery goes vintage, Armani gets royal

Clear cut Vintage anything trumps every trend. Fact. And Prada, not being one to miss a trick, has released a spring-summer jewellery line that harks back to the 19th century, when refinement reigned supreme and ostentation was currency. Crystals are the focus of the collection, which features heavy earrings with teardrop jewels alongside slender bracelets with square-cut stones. We adore the emerald green crystal earrings (above right; HK$4,150), the clear chandelier pair (above left; HK$4,500) and the ruby-coloured bracelet (above, centre; HK$11,800). True blue Emporio Armani's summer line has gone big on blue, with royals and navies appearing on maxi stripes, puffball skirts and resin bustiers. The brand has daubed its accessories in the regal hue, too (albeit aimed at the more casually attired monarch), such as the simple shopper (above right; HK$5,700) for daytime and the geometric evening clutch (above left; HK$3,200). Launched in 2002 by Parsons The New School of Design graduates Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, Proenza Schouler is exactly the sort of brand you'd expect to come out of a New York fashion institute. For their final thesis, they created the first Proenza Schouler (a moniker derived from their mothers' maiden names) collection, which Barneys New York swiftly bought in its entirety. The label's spring-summer 2015 collection features bright, abstract prints after a more sober, but equally original, autumn-winter range. Influenced by surf and skate cultures and men's tailoring, the line toys with asymmetry and contrasting textures. We love the ethnic prints on the monochrome slouch trousers (HK$8,750) and the sleeveless tank (HK$10,400; both above left).
