Who founded it? Mexican-born Armando Takeda, who studied fashion design in Mexico and Japan before undertaking a degree in menswear at London’s Central Saint Martins. After a career working for star names including Alexander McQueen and Bruno Pieters, and Japanese label Dresscamp, of which he was creative director for four years, Takeda set up his eponymous label in 2012.

Why we love it: the brand combines feminine silhouettes with sumptuous fabrics, that leave you feeling desirable and glamorous.

What we’d pick: let’s start with the adorable capri pants (above left; HK$3,400), which sport a stripe on the sides – surely a staple for post-yoga brunches with the ladies. Inject a shot of va-va-voom into your wardrobe with the sleeveless dress (above centre; HK$5,400), with a translucent layer that lengthens the hemline, making it just about office-appropriate. Our third choice is the collared sleeveless top (above right; HK$3,500), for something a little more prim and proper.

Where can you get it? Armando Takeda is available at Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3388.
