Who founded it? A former co-creative director of Marc by Marc Jacobs, Katie Hillier first received industry acclaim in 1999, when she was commissioned to design a series of keyrings, belts and trinkets for Luella’s second fashion show. With a finger firmly on the pulse of London’s edgy fashion scene, Hillier has consulted for a variety of labels, including Victoria Beckham, Loewe, Stella McCartney and Asprey.

Why we love it: we have a soft spot for cheeky, quirky designs and Hillier definitely delivers. The latest collection has been made more accessible, with 14-carat gold instead of 18 carat bringing prices down and Fashion allowing the brand to tap into a much younger audience.

What we’d pick: nothing screams Hillier like the H paperclip necklace with diamond (above left; HK$7,250). The only risk, of course, is that people unfamiliar with the brand might assume your name begins with H, which, of course, it might. If it’s adorable cuteness you’re after, then try the rainbow pavé bunny stud earrings (above centre; HK$7,950). The paperclip earring with diamond (above right; HK$3,050), meanwhile, manages to look both super edgy and a little gory.
