Helianthus mixes Korean design and European leather craftsmanship
Daniel Kong

What’s the story? The chic accessories label was founded in 2011 by Seoul-based Kelly Nam, who had spent seven years working with artisans in Italy, learning every aspect of leather goods production. Her brand combines age-old European craftsmanship with the youthful vigour of Korean design.

Why we love it: the bags feature lush, exotic leathers such as crocodile, ostrich and python, with contemporary signature designs. Many of Nam’s products tread the fine line between classic staples and trendy musthaves – an irresistible combination.

What we’d pick: the Diana backpack in denim grey lambskin (above left; HK$7,400), which features an elaborate embroidery print, and the princessturned- rebel vibe of the stud-laden Leslie bucket bag (top left; HK$8,400) in the most heavenly of pale pinks. The Shaman utility folding backpack (above right; HK$5,900) would be ideal for all the tomboys (or actual boys) out there, with its spare, functional aesthetic.
