The red Louboutin shoe in question - the Viennana 100 red suede multi-strap pump, price HK$8,000. Similar shoes from other brands will cost you a lot less, The Dictator advises.

Nailed It! Tai Tam

I would like to send you to the loony bin, or maybe a hippy commune, but it's my job to help all you crazy folk, so I will indulge you. Just don't tell me you're one of those people calling for the colours to be removed from sugary cereals. Back to your "natural" brightly coloured nails. Let's begin with Safe Nails, otherwise known by the cutesy moniker "Snails". Get it? Made from water, non-toxic colourants and acrylic polymer, they're completely free of scary ingredients such as toluene, formaldehyde, dibutylphthalate and BPA. Colours for kids come with names such as Fairytale, Candy Floss and Bedtime Stories while the adults can choose from the Bijou, Moulin Rouge and other pseudo-swish collection names (HK$68 to HK$86 per bottle; www.safe-nails.com). Little BU (Biva, 151 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, tel: 2868 0444) makes two varieties depending on your manias - the Wash-Off series (HK$120) and the Peel-Off collection (HK$108) for the secret pickers out there. You can also pick up French brand Nailmatic in the kids clothing section at Harvey Nichols (HK$150; Pacific Place). I hope you're not a germaphobe, too, because guess what? Washable nail polishes are literally washed off the moment you add soap and water.

I saw a photo of someone called Gigi Hadid wearing an amazing red gown with red shoes. They look like high-heel pumps but have lots of little straps all the way up the top of the foot. Googling "strappy heels" didn't get me anywhere closer to getting a pair of my own. Please help me.

Strap On, SoHo

Oh, where to begin? How is it possible you still don't know how to conduct an internet search? Celebrity outfits are photographed from every angle and dissected by media outlets and bloggers. Let's take this step by step, shall we? Gigi Hadid is a model, who rose to notoriety via the reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We began by searching for "Gigi Hadid" with "red" and "black tie", which led us to her picture at the 2015 Met Gala. Easy. The dress was by Diane von Furstenberg. Her shoes, drum roll please, are the Viennana 100 red suede multi-strap pumps (HK$8,000) from Christian Louboutin's autumn-winter 2015 collection. The number at the end of Louboutin shoe names refers to the heel height in millimetres, by the way. You could spend well under HK$1,000 for approximations of the design by Aldo, Schutz, Nine West and others, but you will see and feel the difference. Hadid is regularly photographed in shoes by the red-sole master, but it's interesting, even funny, to note that she actually changed out of them for the after-parties that night. What did she sport instead? Adidas Superstars (HK$620 and up).
