Designing Your Life
by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans
Random House Audio (audiobook)

If you’re still asking yourself what you want to be when you grow up, this book may be for you. Bill Burnett and Dave Evans advocate using design strategies to reframe vocational problems, and say that following a passion from the get-go is dangerous because it takes time for people to develop such feelings about work. They also caution against believing that what you major in at college is what you will do for the rest of your life. Cynics who wonder how the Designing Your Life course has become one of Stanford University’s most popular electives will not spend time creating things such as Good Time Journals, which record activities and how energised they make their owners. What is clear is that finding what you should be doing takes work.
