Who started it? Schai was founded in 2013 by Korean-American fashion designer Suk Chai, who spent the first 16 years of her career working for fashion retailer Nordstrom. Why we love it: Chai is a big fan of the strong, masculine silhouette and all her brand’s clothes are made with the highest-quality fabrics. What we’d pick: with winter creeping in, the plush bomber-inspired crop jacket (below left; US$980), with a silky, feathery texture that is easy on the eyes and the skin, would be a welcome addition to any wardrobe. Alternatively there’s the wine-hued Vita snood scarf (left; US$280), made with luxurious Italian alpaca yarn and woven in heavy gauge knit. If you like swaddling yourself in something super cosy, there’s the Alpaloop cocoon cardigan (below right; US$520), made with sumptuous, superfine alpaca from Peru. Where can you get it? Schai is available at www.schaischai.com .
