What’s the story? French-Austrian fashion designer Marina Hoermanseder started her eponymous label in 2014. She has an MA in international business administration from a university in Vienna and studied at Berlin’s Esmod fashion school and London’s Central Saint Martins, following that up with an internship at Alexander McQueen. Soon after, she debuted her line at Berlin Fashion Week and London’s Fashion Scout.

Why we love it: Hoermanseder likes to experiment with sharp contrasts, marrying interesting cuts with fine details. Signatures include leather corsets, intricate closures and delicate fabrics. Hoermanseder’s latest collection shows the effort that goes into her clothes – for instance, more than 8,000 tiny flowers were hand-moulded and embellished for the line.

What we’d recommend: the blue belted long coat (below right; HK$9,900) is apt for chilly spring evenings; unfortunately, the cropped jumpsuit is not available in Hong Kong. If you’d rather show some leg, opt for the pastel green top (HK$4,200) and buckle-belt skirt (HK$17,200; both below left). For a show-stopping look, try the combination of white leather corset (HK$18,500) and maxi skirt (HK$13,000; both above right).

Where can you get it in Hong Kong? Marina Hoermanseder is available at Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central.
