Hong Kong-based Indian high-jewellery designer Payal Shah has been great at getting her L’Dezen line onto the lobes, necks and wrists of the world’s most famous stars including Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Jessica Alba and Halle Berry, at events ranging from the Golden Globes to the Latin Grammys. Since launching, in 2011, Shah has not been short of bold, bright, attention-grabbing creations but currently we are looking at her rich, colourful Sultan range.

Inspired by her heritage, the collection combines precious and semi-precious stones and designs that recall the paisley patterns popular in Indian design. One of our favourite pieces is the striking Opal Flower ring (above; HK$188,000), with a vivid centrepiece surrounded by a cluster of rubellite stones.
