For some, life in Hong Kong is a cocktail of parties and social events washed down with an alcoholic beverage or two. But if being a social butterfly has left you feeling morally bankrupt, Drink For Good may be just the tonic you need.

To be held on Thursday, the event is hosted by HandsOn Hong Kong, a charity that provides volunteers for the city’s community support organisations. This year’s event is supported by more than 60 bars and restaurants, from Central and Wan Chai to Quarry Bay and Kennedy Town, which will donate HK$5 or more for each drink sold on the day.

In 2013, funds raised helped 100 disabled children visit Ocean Park, while donations in 2014 made wishes come true for 500 children with special needs. Last year, the charity organised 70 programmes for 800 children with special needs.

Brand and corporate sponsors can “adopt” a venue for the night – Frites, in Causeway Bay, for example, or Soiree, in Elgin Street, Central.
