Air France’s latest Winter Sale air fares include round-trip tickets from Hong Kong to several European cities from HK$3,930.

If you use the deal to fly to London, Air France offers a convenient way to get into the heart of the British capital with flights to London City Airport – provided you choose the right connections.

Much more convenient and centrally located than Heathrow, London City Airport is offered as an option if you fly with Air France’s partner airline, KLM.

Taking this option requires an overnight stay in Amsterdam, but you can opt for a six-hour stopover in Paris (long enough to visit the Eiffel Tower), and flights with Air France, for a few hundred dollars more. Return flights can also be taken from London City, with shorter connecting times in Amsterdam and Paris.

Taxes and the fuel surcharge add another HK$2,544 to the fare so you’re looking at a HK$6,474 round trip for the lowest price option.

Some rather more exotic locations are also on offer from HK$9,930, plus taxes and fuel surcharge, including Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador and Santiago in Chile. Beware, though, that the journey to and from these far-flung destinations can take up to 50 hours and involve more than one connecting flight and some lengthy layovers.
