Elegantly designed with foldable wings, the all-composite, two-seat, flying-boat-type plane can be stowed in your garage before you tow it to the closest waterway for take-off. For new pilots, the aircraft incorporates groundbreaking technologies to make flying intuitive and safe.
As claimed by the company, the ICON A5 is by far the safest aircraft, fitted with a spin-resistant air frame, giving the pilot a tighter grip of the control rod. A parachute can be added as an option.
The cockpit layout is reminiscent of the panel of a luxury car.
An MP3 port, multipage storage compartment and removable side windows add entertainment to your adventure. The maximum speed of the aircraft is 194km/h.
The first A5, referred to as Engineering Serial No 1 (ESN-1) by the company, has successfully completed its first flight. It is one of three aircraft that will be used to seek FAA approval. Customer deliveries will commence in May next year.
