Montblanc launches new collection in Shanghai

A multimedia presentation mixes videos and live performances.

Celebrating its new Bohème collection, Montblanc threw a stellar party in an unexpected location in the heart of Shanghai. The children's art space was transformed into a luxe venue. Craftsmen specialising in fields, such as dial design, stone setting and watchmaking, demonstrated their skills.

To display the feminine collection, which includes watches, jewellery and writing instruments, Montblanc put on a multimedia show mixing acrobatics with dance, videos and other live performances to wow guests - many flown in from overseas. We spotted celebrities Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky, Gwei Lun-mei and Ana Beatriz Barros at the party.

OVERHEARD It’s unusual that Hollywood hunk Chris Hemsworth is here to plug a women’s collection.

CHIC CHAT with Gwei Lun-mei

Can you tell us about your new film One Step Away co-starring mainland actor Sun Honglei?
The most challenging part was learning to tango. Honglei's a much better dancer than I am but he was patient while I was learning.

Now that youe learned to tango, do you want to take it up as a serious hobby?
I hope one day I can follow tango to its birthplace in Argentina.

Do you enjoy travel by yourself?
I really love travelling by myself. When I was studying in France, I visited a lot of places in the south of the country.

Can you tell us about one memorable trip?
One time, I went to a show at a theatre which ended at midnight. I was nervous about the trip back to the hotel, but it was quite an experience.
