Nine days and 93 shows later, Paris Fashion Week wraps up on a high note. STYLE travelled to the city of fashion to see the trends unfold and the major players behind. Read on for our favourite looks at the shows, our fashion week round-up and pieces that we can’t wait to get hold of next summer. With Vivian Chen
This season bids farewell to some of the best talents in the trade and meanwhile embraces others’ major comebacks.
Louis Vuitton
Even before sitting down for the show, we are already excited about Vuitton’s all-new venue – the Louis Vuitton Foundation Centre designed by Frank Gehry. As impressive as the modern architectural masterpiece is the much-anticipated collection presented by Nicholas Ghesquiere, who has made turtlenecks covetable again. As stated in the sci-fi-esque opening video projected onto mirroring walls, “LV house wants to explore the ability to travel to any part of the universe without moving”. Ghesquiere is ready to take the traditional maison of luxury luggage up a notch. “The journey starts here,” he says. And it’s a journey we never want to end.
The set-up might be sci-fi inspired, but the fashion is a revival of the ’70s. The red leather and mesh dress shows a Vuitton girl kind of cool.
