As the techniques of watchmaking evolve, durability has become an issue more crucial than ever. Hublot's acclaimed alloy Magic Gold - the only scratch-resistant 18ct gold - was unveiled in 2011 and debuted at Baselworld 2012 in the limited-edition Big Bang Ferrari. The brand recently launched a new model with a Magic Gold bezel - the Big Bang Unico. Magic Gold, rated at 1,000 Vickers, is the hardest 18ct gold in the world. In addition to its uncompromising material and precision, the timepiece is visually appealing with a matte black skeleton dial and ribbed rubber strap. The timepiece's column wheel and double clutch are visible on the dial, and the flyback chronograph movement is manufactured in-house with a 72-hour power reserve.
