EVENT Paul Andrew Spring/Summer Collection Launch Cocktail

HAPPENINGS: As the winner of last year's prestigious CFDA fund, Paul Andrew is one of the most popular shoe designers right now. After a short stint apprenticing with Alexander McQueen, Andrew moved to New York almost 16 years ago to work with fashion maestros such as Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. It wasn't until 2013 that he decided to strike out on his own. His designs, which boast geometric prints, vibrant colours and a comfortable fit, became instant hits.
To launch his Greek goddess-inspired spring/summer collection, Andrew met his Hong Kong fans at a VIP cocktail. Delicate and healthy canapes were served with free-flowing bubbly. The down-to-earth designer was seen mingling with local fans.

What's your favourite brand when it comes to shoes?
Church's. I have many pairs of [them] at home. They are my favourites.
Have you ever tried walking in your own designs?
No, I haven't. But I'm planning to launch a men's collection soon, so I'll be able to wear my own designs. 
You've picked up the New York accent.
I know. I've been in New York for 16 years, and I only go back to London five or six times a year - not often enough to keep my British accent. 
Are you celebrating your birthday this year during your first Asian tour?
Yes. I think the many opportunities in Asia can be great presents for me.
