EVENT BURBERRY ‘LONDON IN LOS ANGELES’ EVENT
WHERE GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY, LOS ANGELES
: Burberry's latest fashion soiree took over Los Angeles' iconic Griffith Observatory - an institution founded in 1935, sitting opposite of the famous Hollywood sign. The British luxury brand spared no effort to transport guests to the heart of Britain. It splurged on a stellar soiree to celebrate its newly opened flagship store on Rodeo Drive.
Themed "London in Los Angeles", Burberry's chief creative officer and CEO, Christopher Bailey, restaged its autumn/winter 2015 collection at the event, mixing menswear and womenswear and a few new looks exclusive to the Los Angeles store, available for sale the day after the show.
A tent accommodating about 700 guests was custom-built for the one-night only show. The front row saw an array of A-listers, such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Elton John, Tang Wei and more. Stealing the spotlight, however, was the Beckham family. While David and Victoria tended to their baby girl Harper Seven, the Beckham boys Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, looking all grown up, posed for the photo crew. Supermodels including Jourdan Dunn and Naomi Campbell trotted down the runway. In the surprise finale, the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards marched down the runway. British comedian James Corden whisked the audience to the after-party nearby.
OVERHEARD It’s impressive that Burberry was able to fly in so many royal guards.
