HAPPENINGS: Audemars Piguet offers more than iconic sporty watches for men. The luxury Swiss watchmaker launched its new Millenary collection for women during Paris Haute Couture Week. The brand has appointed actress Freida Pinto of Slumdog Millionaire fame as ambassador for the women's watch collection.

To announce the new collection, Audemars Piguet hosted a soiree at Carreau du Temple in the chic Le Marais district in Paris. Guests including Hong Kong actress Michele Reis, socialite Olivia Palermo, model Jourdan Dunn, actress Audrey Tautou and fashion designer Elie Saab attended the night of celebration. Two-Michelin-star chef Hélène Darroze designed a special menu for the night, while New York band She Keeps Bees performed for the crowd of prestigious guests.

CHIC CHAT with Michele Reis

Why did you choose to be the ambassador of Audemars Piguet?

There was a collaboration of horse racing with Audemars Piguet in Hong Kong. I think our visions align very well - the brand has a long history and an ongoing heart of innovation.

You've reduced your workload since you had a baby. Are you becoming pickier in choosing which brands to collaborate with?

I don't think I'm being picky. Those brands that approach me would have considered the spokesperson to be decorous before the collaboration. If the time fits, I will work with a quality brand.

The theme of Audemars Piguet's campaign for its Millenary collection is "Timeless Woman". What are the qualities of a timeless woman to you?

To me, gaining experience as time passes by makes a timeless watch and a timeless woman.

How have your priorities shifted since you became a mum?

My child needed me when he was small, so I gave my family more attention. As he grows older, I have more time for myself and can choose to take up more jobs.
