Leonardo DiCaprio raises US$40 million for the environment at his foundation gala

: When a Hollywood A-lister hosts a fundraising gala, it's not surprising there is a stellar guest list. At Leonardo DiCaprio's Foundation (LDF) second annual gala, actor Orlando Bloom was spotted catching up with DiCaprio, while actresses Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson and mother Goldie Hawn, models Naomi Campbell and Heidi Klum were in the crowd.

A lively auction was held to raise money for charity, while nine-time Grammy award winner John Legend crooned to the crowd.

For the auction, DiCaprio offered several personal items up for bid, including his own Rolex Daytona Cosmograph watch, and Andy Warhol and Banksy artworks from his personal collection. Other pieces auctioned included a private concert with Elton John, who also gave an impromptu performance that evening, and ownership of an estate home on Leonardo DiCaprio's own Belize island, Blackadore Caye.

It was a night worth celebrating. LDF raised more than US$40 million which will go towards preserving and saving the environment.
