It's a moment of déjà vu for Louis Vuitton. Grand Palais - where George Vuitton showed his luxury luggage and bags in 1900 for Paris' famous Universal Exhibition - is being taken over again by the maison over a century later. From December 4 until February 21, 2016, Louis Vuitton will present an exhibition entitled Volez, Voguez, Voyagez.
Curated by Olivier Saillard, the exhibition showcases some of the maison's archived masterpieces circa 1854, and contemporary pieces. Famous opera director Robert Carsen designed a nine-chapter journey for the exhibition, which opens with a 1906 Louis Vuitton trunk.
The exhibition also features rarely seen objects and documents from Louis Vuitton Patrimony and pieces on loan from Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris.
