HAPPENINGS: To celebrate its "The World's Best Shoes" campaign, luxury e-tailer Mr Porter organised a series of events to show off its excellent offerings: an intimate luncheon, followed by a dinner party and, last but not least, a party co-hosted by Jimmy Choo. Toby Bateman, buying director for Mr Porter, flew in specially for the events.

Benedict Ku spinned at the party. Shim Chang-min of Korean band TVXQ flew in especially for the occasion. Taiwanese actor Sunny Wang also dropped by.

Party frequenter Feiping Chang was on scene, as were sisters Antonia Li and Caroline Li. Model Janet Ma also made an appearance with husband actor Michael Wong.

OVERHEARD This photo booth is so much fun. I love it.

Tell us about the World's Best Shoes campaign.

It's part of a one-month celebration. We've collaborated with a number of designers [and brands] for exclusive capsule collections, including Christopher Kane, Grenson and Officine Generale and Edward Green. These capsule collections are in a microscopic way a representation of Mr Porter's shoe offerings, which are the World's Best Shoes. It's a cross-section from sneakers to English-made shoes.

What is your style tip for this season?

There's a big '70s vibe for men this season - stemming off from the womenswear trend. You can have a '70s style without looking like you just stepped out of a fantasy dress party. You can do that with anything from a shearling coat, or if you want some colour, corduroy is a good way to tap into the trend.

What are you looking forward to most in Hong Kong?

I'd like to visit the stores if I have time off. I'm excited to visit The Armoury.
